It All Began With...

Was it an idea? A spark? A notion? Or simply part of me believed that my experiences and opinions needed to be shared. Because who knows? Maybe someone out there is perhaps looking for advice or knowledge on something I may know the answer to. Or maybe not. But hey, here I am giving it a go, my 'leap of faith' if you will.

My name is Sophianne, yes it's a strange name I admit, but I like to call it unique. I currently study at Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent perusing CGI and Visual Effects. Whoever asks me "why on earth would you want to do that?" I hit them with an "ever since" line that mentions how I've been fascinated by film and have always wanted to have my name fall slowly down the screen at the end of a one (and a bonus would be if it were at the end of an Avatar film, but here's to dreaming). My first year of University has come and gone and soon I will be back working all hours of the night doing crazy things like making galaxies and space stations. On this blog I will be sharing my experiences as a student living in halls, surviving on a budget and living away from home.

Traveling has been a significant passion of mine, I've traveled across 5 continents and experienced an abundance of cultures. From America to Australia, each and every country has been completely different yet share a place in my heart. I've got crazy, some slightly manic, stories to share with you and valuable lessons I've learnt from them along the way. Here, I will be talking about my travels and how I have successfully (well...I think) traveled as a student on a budget.

I like to keep myself busy over the periods when I'm not in Uni and back home in 'sunny' Northern Ireland. I own a Depop shop that sells dainty jewellery pieces like earrings, necklaces and hair accessories called Opal and Lime. Although, I have to admit, I don't have ma ny sales yet as I only opened it this year, I still pride myself in owning a little business which keeps me occupied.

'A Stroll With Soph' is the name I came up with which encompasses my thoughts, experiences and opinions as a little metaphor for my blog. So let's be corny shall we? Take a 'stroll' with me and hear what I have to say about life and my up and down journey through it.
