Goooood evening, although this is a preferably morning smoothie bowl recipe, maybe this can be an idea to lighten up the boring old porridge for tomorrow? I don't know about you but I find that smoothies for brekkie fill me up for a lot longer than other breakfast foods like toast or cereal. If time is an issue in the mornings and making a smoothie bowl sounds way out of the question, why not prepare it the night before and save it in the fridge to be nice and fresh in the morning! This recipe does contain oats that need to be kept overnight anyway, so why not give it a go?

For this recipe, I use the Breville Smoothie Maker. With this, you can make smoothies conveniently with very little preparation time needed. I definitely take it for granted when it comes to rushing out the door for Uni...
Ingredients (For the Smoothie)
Handful of Frozen Berries
Handful of Spinach or Kale
Handful of Almonds
1 Ripe Banana
1 Tsp Honey
1 Tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
200ml Water or Milk
Method
Simply add everything together in whatever food processor you have. Blend until most of the large bits are smooth. If you find it too lumpy, add water or milk and blend some more. You can add or take away any of these ingredients, it's all to your preference. The smoothie part of this recipe is the richest in nutrients, I love eating this breakfast bowl, knowing my body is getting everything it needs to start the day right.

For the porridge, like I mentioned before, I make 'overnight oats' which is simply made by placing oats with water or milk into the fridge overnight. You can add honey or cinnamon or basically anything you wish to it. I like to eat overnight oats on their own with chopped fruit and berries too! If you're not to keen in warm porridge, this might be a nicer alternative to try.

This is so so tasty and fills me up until lunch. If I'm in a hurry, I bring my jar of oats that I used to keep in the fridge overnight to class and eat during our little breaks, perfect!

To construct the breakfast bowl, all you need to do is add your smoothie, overnight oats and choice of fruits together. I like to add a handful of chia seeds too as they add a nice little crunch to the bowl. Pinterest is literally bombarded with (VERY aesthetically pleasing) breakfast bowls which give different recipes to have a go at. You can find my breakfast bowl Pinterest board here for some inspo!

I hope you enjoy this recipe! If you give it a go, I'd LOVE to see your breakfast bowl creations!
